GIVING BACK. The legacy of T. Boone Pickens began in Oklahoma as
the Holdenville cowboy. He would get a degree in geology and
start a career in the oil and gas industry that has served him
and his causes well. T. Boone Pickens has always given back. He
is one of the biggest supporters of his alma mater, the Oklahoma
State University Cowboys, and he also shares his wealth with
many other nonprofit groups and agencies. T. Boone Pickens has
committed more than half a billion dollars during his career,
with more than $220 million identified in 2005 alone.
